An Elegant Halloween
Halloween does not have to mean costumes and plastic decorations. For many, it has become an evening for something quieter and more beautiful: a candlelit dinner with close friends.
This year, we invite you to celebrate with design.
•
Set the Mood With Dark Materials
The most elegant Halloween tables begin with the table itself. A dark surface, such as Black Oak, Graphite, or a stone top in Calacatta Black or Tempestas Black, creates instant drama. Against it, candles glow brighter and every object looks intentional.
•
Candlelight Over Decorations
Replace the overhead light with dozens of candles at different heights. Add dried branches, dark flowers, a few small pumpkins in muted tones. The effect is atmospheric, not theatrical, and perfectly suited to homes in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove, where architecture already carries a sense of history.
•
Color With Restraint
A sophisticated Halloween palette relies on depth: black, deep brown, burgundy and a touch of amber. Amber or smoke hammered glass, a burgundy rope accent chair, or a Chocolate Oak sideboard used as a bar all add color without cliché.
•
Comfort for a Long Evening
The best Halloween dinners last late into the night. Upholstered dining chairs and a comfortable lounge area for after dinner, perhaps a velvet sofa in Steel Gray, keep guests at ease long after the last course.
•
Bring the Mood Home
Many of the pieces featured in this story are available at our Miami and Los Angeles showrooms, and several are Ready-to-Ship. Whether you are hosting in Pinecrest or Manhattan Beach, it is not too late to set the scene.
The most memorable celebrations are not the loudest. They are the most beautiful.
Happy Halloween.
